Arena and convention center
The arena and convention center located at Prestigious Qatar University. Nova Range is enlisted as audio visual and theatrical lighting consultant.
The main hall of the sports and events complex is 50 by 70 meters and can be subdivided into four separate sub halls by a ceiling-mounted retractable dividing curtain with 22 dB sound insulation and sound- absorption.
Yamaha AFC3 (Active Field Control) with Nexo speakers has been applied which is an acoustic conditioning system designed to adjust and enhance the architectural acoustic characteristics of the venue; while maintaining the natural sonic characteristic of the space.
The system was designed to have the flexibility to host sports and concert and speech functions without compromise, the client is able to switch between modes in an instant.
Additionally, the facility provides the infrastructure for HDTV broadcast and simultaneous translation systems allowing for United Nations style language interpretation. Numerous telepresence rooms allow the facility to be easily utilized for distance learning and worldwide communications.
An automated LED illuminated retractable ceiling allows the university to create an intimate environment for large and small events alike by lowering the ceiling from 15 meters to 8 meters.
The project also includes other areas like multi-purpose fitness hall, gym room, squash court, student lounge, VIP lounge, medical center, exercise studio, breakout rooms, media workrooms, rehearsal room, and broadcast room, etc. Each of the areas our team had put infrastructure and equipment for audio video patching, and also broadcast network; to increase the flexibility when using the rooms.
